Η μεγαλύτερη βραδιά της μουσικής, η 61η τελετή απονομής των βραβείων Grammy, πραγματοποιήθηκε την Κυριακή 10 Φεβρουαρίου, στο Staples Center του Λος Άντζελες, με οικοδέσποινα την Αλίσια Κις. H τελετή άνοιξε με μια δυναμική ομιλία από τις Lady Gaga, Τζένιφερ Λόπεζ, Μισέλ Ομπάμα και Τζάντα Πίνκετ Σμιθ. Μετά από την περσινή κατακραυγή για την έλλειψη γυναικών νικητών στα Grammy, φέτος οι γυναίκες «βγήκαν μπροστά».
Η Lady Gaga, κάτι ήξερε που προτίμησε τα Grammy και «έχασε» τη βράβευση στα BAFTA 2019 του Μπράντλεϊ Κούπερ, ο οποίος κέρδισε το βραβείο μουσικής για την ταινία «Ένα Αστέρι Γεννιέται». H Gaga κέρδισε 3 βραβεία (μεταξύ αυτών το Καλύτερο Ποπ Ντουέτο με τον Κούπερ για το «Shallow» και την καλύτερη ποπ ερμηνεία με το «Joanne») και ξεσήκωσε το κοινό του Στέιπλς με τη live ερμηνεία της.
Δίσκος της Χρονιάς και Τραγούδι της Χρονιάς το «This is America» του Clildish Gambino και Καλύτερος Νέος Καλλιτέχνης η Dua Lipa.
Καλύτερο Ραπ Τραγούδι το «God’s Plan» του Drake και Καλύτερο Άλμπουμ το «Invasion of Privacy» της Cardi B.
Live στην τελετή εμφανίστηκαν οι: Maren Morris, Miley Cyrus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, H.E.R., Camila Cabello, Post Malone και Cardi B. Για πρώτη φορά στη σκηνή των Grammys ανέβηκε το συγκρότημα κορεάτικης ποπ (K-pop) BTS, και τα social media πήραν φωτιά. Στα δυνατά σημεία της βραδιάς η live εμφάνιση της Τζένιφερ Λόπεζ, της Νταϊάνα Ρος και η βράβευση του αδικοχαμένου Κρις Κορνέλ για την Καλύτερη Ροκ Ερμηνεία στο «When Bad Does Good» (το βραβείο παρέλαβαν τα παιδιά του).
